We thought we had seen the cheapest an
Android tablet could get when the
Ainol Novo 7 reared it’s 7-inch screen running
Ice-cream Sandwich, but today the Chinese
tablet maker has released an even cheaper
Android 4.0 tablet!
The new
Ainol Novo 7 Paladin
tablet sits below the Novo 7
Advanced and Novo 7 Basic, and as such has slightly different
specs, yet still manages to pack
Android Ice-cream Sandwich!
At the core of the Novo 7 Paladin sits the same Ingenic 1Ghz MIPS Xburst CPU as found in the Novo 7 Basic, The GPU is from Vivante and is clocked at 444Mhz, however to fit the lower price point of $79, the 7-inch Paladin doesn’t get an SD card slot or
cameras as the Novo 7 Basic does.
Battery life is excellent, just as we have discovered with our own
Ainol Tablet, with standby time rated at 300 hours, 25 hours for
music only play back, 8 hours for video and 7 hours of web browsing.
