We started with Bluetooth-enabled 'smart' watches that would buzz/light up to an incoming call stimulus on a paired
smartphone. Things went ahead and we had smartwatches with full colour displays that could do anything your
smartphone did. And then, came the era of smartwatches that do not like playing second-fiddle to your
smartphone.
The Exetech XS-3 falls in this category. The XS-3 is a highly-capable
smartwatch that comes with a 1.54-inch 240 x 240 touch-sensitive display, a dual core
MediaTek processor, on-board 3G, complete with even a
microSD card slot! As you would expect, the
device is among the more beefy smartwatches we've come across, but its hard to say if those in need of such functionality would mind after all.
The XS-3 comes with
2GB of on-board storage along with the aforementioned
microSD slot for further expansion. Like the
Carpad smartwatch we talked about a bit back, the XS-3 features a micro SIM slot which lets you connect to GSM and
Wcdma networks for voice and data. The heavily loaded
smartwatch also comes with a 2 mega-pixel camera for the hidden sting operator in you. All this is powered by a 420mAh battery, which apparently holds good for 6-7 hours of usage and 18 hours of standby.
The Exetech XS-3 can be bought in Black for €350 (roughly $485) with a White version on the cards.
