Vivo has confirmed the main details of its upcoming Vivo T5 5G ahead of its launch in India on September 2. The
phone will feature a 7,050mAh
battery in a body measuring only 7.99mm in thickness.
A big battery in a small body?
Thats right, the battery is the phone's biggest talking point. A capacity of 7,050mAh is well above average for this segment, especially in a device that stays below 8mm thick.
Vivo is aiming to offer longer battery life without making the phone feel overly big.
The company hasnt told us the phone's weight or charging speed yet. Those details will be important, as a large battery can affect both handling and charging times.
AMOLED display and MediaTek chip
The T5 5G will run on MediaTek's Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset. It will also feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, curved edges, and a 144Hz refresh rate.
The high refresh rate should make scrolling and animations look smoother and doom scrolling will be much more enjoyable! The AMOLED panel should also have deeper blacks than a standard LCD screen.
Vivo has confirmed a dedicated NPU for on-device AI functions. This allows some AI tasks to run directly on the phone instead of relying on cloud. The T5 5G will use Vivo's OriginOS software based on Android.
Expected price and T5 Pro comparison
Vivo has not announced the exact price or available memory configurations. The company has indicated that the T5 5G could cost between ₹34,999 and ₹49,999 in India.
The phone will sit below the Vivo T5 Pro. According to current reports, the Pro model may include a 9,020mAh battery, MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 chipset, and 90W fast charging.
That would make the T5 Pro the faster and better-equipped model, while the regular T5 5G could appeal to buyers who want a large battery and a high-refresh-rate display at a lower price. Vivo should reveal the remaining details during the September 2 launch so yall will have to wait.
