That's a meaningful step up from the 6,000mAh dual-cell in the X Fold 5, which was already one of the largest foldable batteries in the market. I suppose the naming question will irritate anyone trying to track this device. MIX Fold 5 and Xiaomi 17 Fold are both in circulation as candidate names, and no official branding has been confirmed. What is clear is that this is a fresh project — not a rework of the cancelled nirvana prototype — and that it represents Xiaomi's first attempt at a book-style foldable since the MIX Fold 4 in 2024. Whether the Xring O3 remains China-only, as the O1 did, remains an open question.
