Xiaomi has a new power bank
on the way, and it’s not just about the numbers. Sure, the capacity is 20,000mAh and the charging speed goes up to 67W, but the real hook is something simpler: the cable is built right in. The launch price is 179 yuan, which is about $25 USD, and sales kick off on September 8, 2024 through Xiaomi’s own store. That puts it in the budget-friendly zone, though the spec sheet doesn’t look budget at all.
A design that travels well
The
power bank comes in two colors, light blue and light brown, and both look pretty sleek. There’s a digital display on the side so you can check how much juice is left without guessing. The built-in cable is made from TPU and doubles as a lanyard, which is one of those little design choices that actually matters. It means you don’t have to pack an extra cord just to use the thing — something most of us have been annoyed by at some point.
Ports and charging options
Apart from the attached cable, you also get a USB-C port and a USB-A port. Between them, the bank can handle three devices at the same time. The numbers look like this: 67W output from USB-C, 22.5W from USB-A. That covers phones, tablets, and even some laptops.
Big battery, but still flight-friendly
Inside are three cells that add up to 20,000mAh, or just under 75Wh. That matters because airlines usually cap portable batteries at 100Wh for carry-on bags, so this one passes the test. For frequent travelers, that’s peace of mind.
Broad compatibility
On the software side, it supports a long list of charging protocols: QC2.0, QC3.0, QC3.5, PD2.0, PD3.0 (PPS), BC1.2, and Apple’s 2.4A standard. In practice, that means it’ll fast-charge pretty much anything you plug into it.
Why it stands out
Plenty of power banks hit 20,000mAh these days, and fast charging isn’t rare either. What makes this one interesting is the mix: high output, built-in cable, and a price that undercuts a lot of rivals. It’s not flashy, but it’s practical — and that’s exactly what most people want from a power bank.
