THL W11 “Monkey King” has dual 13 mega-pixel cameras?

THL’s next phone has been spotted a few times already here on GizChina, but now the nicknamed “Monkey King” has caught the attention of other media outlets.

As reported here and here, the next THL phone will be a great departure from current models. The THL W11 aka “Monkey King” boasts an all new stylish design and is packed with some really great features including a 1080 5-inch display, 1.5Ghz Mediatek MT6589T Turbo processor and 2GB RAM.

Gizchina News of the week

We also know that the W11 will get a rear 13 mega-pixel camera, but according to new sources it may also get a 13 mega-pixel sensor on the front of the phone also! Updated front sensor are a growing trend in Chinese phones, one which started with the Oppp Ulike 2’s 5 mega-pixel front camera, then the Meitu Kiss’s 8 mega-pixel and now the THL W11’s 13 mega-pixel.

We’re not sure how accurate these new sources are, the originally rumoured 8 mega-pixel seems more reasonable to us, but as you all know by now Chinese phone makers like to change things right until the last moment!

I’m no expert, but if front and rear sensors are the same, would that not both simplify image processing and allow for the actual capture of an area approaching 360 degrees if both are working similtaneously.
Will the resulting on screen images be picture in picture or some kind of scrollable, side to side, 3D representation as a still or as HD video.
Anyway this phone hopefully will be available for puchase for customers outside of China.
Please keep us appraised Andi or hopefully THL can advertise the device on this site. I’m definitely interested.

THL w11 has no removable battery, for such phones what happens when the battery dies or its no more able to perform at all ? all batteries have a finite life time. What to do that time, how to replace.

There’s an ebay seller in UK who says they’ll stock it as soon as it ‘s available. It’s said to be released first week of July, so i guess they’d bring it within a few weeks of its release. I’m definitely getting one.
