It all depends on the price but the S2 sounds pretty good. Then again I might just get a Snapdragon one if they turn out to be cheap enough.

      • January 14, 2014

Non of the phones listed here have OIS. I expect we will start to see Chinese phones with it from around May.

All have horribly small battery for those supersizes, even Changhong isn’t going to use the 5000mAh used in their Z9/Z9s.

I’m personally waiting for successor to Lenovo P780.

…and yet only 1 with LTE. The thing is after using my Nexus 5 on 4G I simply could not go back to 3G speeds. The difference is huge and really noticeable, makes for a greatly improved experience. From the rumours it seems inevitable that most of the big boys eg. xiaomi, oppo, meizu etc will all include LTE in their next devices but I just wonder how long it will take these other manufacturers to catch up. It really is a deal breaker for me now. Annoying really cos the MT6592 looks very capable…

How many of these have worthy atleast an Exmor camera or LTPS screen??
are they just usual 1year worth plastics?

The Second and most important problem is trust .
will most of these be getting actual specs on device to match what they claim on paper.
    Inew V3 realy disappointed.
And So Did Xiomi Mi3 they even came out with Apology.

IMHO you can trust TCL, Xiaomi and Lenovo phones. Quality in par with the major manufacturers. As for the TCL they have some pretty nice cameras in their smartphones. My 1 year TCL 997D has an 8mp shooter that’s far better than my Jiayu’s 13mp camera. I bet the Idol x and x+ series have some some great cameras to compete with the best flagships.

      • January 14, 2014

Totally agree on those 3 phone makers. JiaYu’s phone quality is up there too but I also agree that they have not optimised the camera on their phones. Did you try something like focal on your JiaYu? I use it on the G5 and get some really nice photos.

        • eimai_kala
          January 14, 2014

I tried everything with both settings and 3rd party apps that are top notch when it comes to photo capturing. There is more noise on the photos of the jiayu than on the TCL and thus the overall picture quality is better on my TCL photos.
I don’t put Jiayu in the same place with TCL,Xiaomi or Lenovo due to the many problems that many people have with their G4 devices. I’ve not read much about other phones of Jiayu but having a G4A I’ve read about some major issues that many people reported having. There are also many youtube videos showing some of those problems when claiming a refund. Anyway, the G4 is actually a great device when working fine!

    • January 14, 2014

Happy new year to you too 🙂
Zopo and iOcean have LTPS screens, the JiaYu phones still have Exymor. To be honest though I am still waiting for the next genereation Chinese phone which will make me say ‘Wow I want it’ to be unveiled. I know it is coming, but just can’t say much about it 🙂

I don’t know the reason for octa core phone, everything works on 4 cores and 1Gb of RAM, I don’t see any high quality games that require powerful smartphone

    • Stef
      January 15, 2014

4 cores are more than enough, I agree, we need more IPCs not more cores.

But let me add that 1 gig of ram is close to limited, depending on use cases of courses. To my experience 1 gig is the minimum while 2gigs of ram is the recommended amount as far as android is concerned. Only 2 gigs gave me true multitasking…

Which phones out of this list have WCDMA 900/2100MHz support? More providers are shifting towards 900 MHz for 3G in my country. I believe the IOcean X7S Elite has support, but I am hearing some complaints about GPS… Or have those issues been resolved after moving from the X7 to the X7S model?
