EZcast is a Chromcast clone from China

Another Chinese built rival of the Google Chromecast is not available online through Aliexpress, the $27 EZ Cast, EZchrome dongle.

Gizchina News of the week

Aliexpress is an interesting site to hangout and see what great gadgets are available, and at reasonable prices from China. Reader Igor Mishin discovered one such treasure when he came across this Google Chromecast knock-off. The EZcast is a small black dongle which plugs in to your HDMI equipped TV and allows you to wirelessly mirror what is shown on your smartphone, tablet or PC on to the big screen.

How good the product is we don;t know, but at just $26.87, it might be worth a try.

    same principles as miracast, however you do not have to have miracast phone. Any smartphones can do mirroring with ezcast apps & dongle… but a little buggy

    I just got this dongle today and I’m able to fling content to my TV and share my smartphone screen mirroring. There is Miracast but no Chromecast support. Having used many types of connected devices (XBMC, OpenElec, RPi, Android sticks) it feels odd using Miracast for the first time as it disconnects the device (and your smartphone) from the wireless LAN, so it can establish a direct WiFi connection between them – so effective only with local content on your smartphone. Via the casting you can run Youtube videos. Not figured out the DLNA features fully, but looking promising. Would like more Android apps to support the Intents that EZcast uses.
    smartphone = Ulefone U650 (Android 4.2.2)
