OnePlus One CPU details set to come out today

Folks at OnePlus sure know how to tease their phones! How often do we see ‘reverse countdowns’?!

Only yesterday, the company released a teaser which hinted that the CPU details of the OnePlus One would be revealed 6th March. And then today, the company put up an image on their official Facebook page which had the date changed to 5th March, i.e., today!

This seems to be a perfect case of haggling; you go to a bazaar, the seller quotes an exorbitant rate, you haggle it down to what you think is a ‘fair price’ which leaves you happy and the seller rich! If they’d have mentioned 5th March in the first place, we’re pretty certain we wouldn’t have been publishing a post of this kind. 😉

We recently conducted a poll regarding the CPU on the OnePlus One. You can still head over to the poll and cast your vote; judging by the previous entries it seems as though the Snapdragon 805 is a prime candidate.

Still think it will be the 801, don’t think they would be able to hold the price below $400 with the 805. Also I was hoping for a 2k screen as it was supposed to be using the best of everything, but I think the price has definitely ruled that out unfortunately, or are they gonna follow Oppo’s lead???

2k is a farce to me, total overkill, no visible gains from 1080p and will definitely hinder performance, especially in 3D heavy games. If Samsung/Sony and HTC can’t get an 805 yet there is no way One Plus can that’s for sure. It will be 801

I’m not condoning the use (or not) of a 2k screen. I’m just saying that to be a true 2014 flagship device it would have to have a 2k screen, it’s irrelevant if we NEED it or not as I still want it! Always nice to brag about the technical specs to like minded mates and have a device that isn’t outdated in 6 months time. Regardless of anyone’s opinion on the matter, the fact is screen resolutions are on the up and I don’t think it will stop at 2k either, we still don’t know the size of the phone if it’s 5″ then it is overkill, if it’s nearer the size as the Vivo then I think it’s just about acceptable.

Hi OnePlus, Oppo & Vivo are all subsidiaries of BBK electronics, a massive chinese company. Pete lau OnePlus founder was vice president of Oppo usa blu ray division, they make worlds best blu ray players. OnePlus One phone is getting manufactured in Oppo’s chinese factory, expect great things. Maby even snapdragon 805 as its released in summer at same timeOnePlus One is up for sale. $400 price is because OnePlus are cutting middle man out saving money by only selling the phone on there own website plus they have backing of BBK.

This is the thing, different people want different things. Some people are obsessed with lte, doubt it will be available here in the UK where I am for at least another 4 years so is of no interest to me. Wireless charging, OTG, OTA and wireless display for me at least is much more important.
