Coolpad are working on producing a new flagship phone with rotating camera feature and Sony’s IMX220 20 mega-pixel sensor.

The Coolpad Grand 5, currently referred internally as the CoolPad 9971, is the same phone which was spotted scoring over 44,000 points a few weeks back. Now insiders have leaked a few more details of this powerful Mediatek smartphone that make it should like a serious flagship device.

According to the leaks Coolpad have opted for the MT6595 processor for it’s compatibility and with the Sony IMX220 camera, and ability to offer great camera enhancements and slow motion video. To make the Grand 5 a more competitive camera centric device the sensor will have a 6 lens stack and also a rotating camera design.

The rest of the feature are all flagship material and include 3GB RAM, 5.5-inch 2K display, and Android 4.4.2 with Coolpads own UI and features. Apparently the CoolPad Grand 5 will be released before the end of the year.

I think it should be 6595. It’s a typo mistake. I wish it should have released now. I like coolpad products. I am having Coolpad_9976A. It’s an amazing device. But is big for everyday use.

Interesting features. Although I demise the 2K screen. FHD would have been more than enough. Rest sounds good though. But I agree that the rotating camera might be a weakness.
