Photos: Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 teardown

Does the newest Xiaomi revelation look as good on the inside as it does on the outside? Folks in China decided to take matters in their hands…

The Redmi Note 2 is the latest hot property from China. Touting a Helio X10 SoC, the Redmi Note 2 rivals the likes of the Meizu MX5 (and I daresay… the HTC M9+) with its processing prowess. Very recently, Xiaomi announced that it sold a hefty 800,000 of these in less than 12 hours!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 teardown

Take a look at the pictures of the teardown. Does appear as though the Redmi Note 2 is as well built as other Xiaomi phones!

Gizchina News of the week

The Redmi Note 2 sells for an incredible starting price of just 799 Yuan or US$125 in China. That is half the reason why the phone is already as popular as it is; the other half of the reason is in the chipset, and the PDAF enabled rear camera.

Are you planning to get one this season?

They make very good sensors. Most front camera sensors in phones today are made by Omnivision. A lot of companies can’t meet the demand of phones today so usually use two different sensors, Samsung is infamous for this. If the setup is the same in both though you won’t even notice a difference, in fact the OV might even be better.

I guess they are using both Samsung and OV sensors, not too uncommon for smartphone manufacturers.

and one more does both sim slots work on 4g?

      there are 3 version:
      3G : 125$ (TD-LTE for China only)
      4G : 140$ (FDD-LTE)
      Prime : 155$ (FDD-LTE)

i don’t know which version he’s buying, but either way the price is fair because it you add reseller markup, shipping and taxes you would spend over 200$.

if you need 4G then make sure he’s sending you the right version with 4G (FDD-LTE) enabled.

the 4G version has the FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800 mhz) enabled so this phone will work with your carrier without any problems on 3G and 4G.

      Storage:
      16GB for the 3G version
16 GB for the 4G version
and 32GB rom for Prime version

all of them support SD card up to 32GB

          you’re absolutely right sir
but the 4G of the first version is TD-LTE and not FDD
          so that’s why i wrote 3G only.

I’ll fix the infos to avoid misunderstandings.
