Suspected low-cost Galaxy Note Mini turns up in India

A mystery Samsung handset with 5.25-inch display has been spotted on a delivery note to an Indian R&D center.

The shipping note mentions a number of Samsung tablets which we can identify as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, but the odd one out is a sample device named the Mini SM-P601. The mystery handset has a 5.25-inch display and a retail price of INR 33,508 ($542) ad is suspected to be an entry-level version of the recently release Samsung Galaxy note 3.

Gizchina News of the week

Earlier this month Samsung confirmed that they would eventually use Mediatek processors in entry-level phones, this doesn’t appear to be the case with the Mini SM-P601 as the note also says the device has space for just one SIM rather than 2 which is a common feature of MTK phones.
