Breaking: WCDMA Xiaomi Mi3 will launch Mid-December


Finally some great news for those of us patiently waiting for the WCDMA version of the Xiaomi Mi3, Xiaomi have confirmed it will eventually to on sale in Mid-December.

Xiaomi have been waiting for Qualcomm to deliver the updated Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB quad-core chip to begin manufacturing of the China Unicom version of their flagship phone. A post on Weibo today suggests that the delivery has been made as the WCDMA model of the Mi3 is now set for a launch in December!

In addition to the updated chip, the China Unicom version of the Xiaomi Mi3 will get Android 4.3 rather than 4.2.1 and is also suitable for use on many international 3G networks!

    I bet theyll only release 100k of em too so they can brag about selling out in 4 seconds or whatever.

      sadly, this will be the case. I just hope it doesn’t take Taiwan and Hong Kong a long time to get it. The WCDMA HongMi was released Nov 5th, but the local Xiaomi here in Taiwan just keeps saying “soon!”. Not looking like I’ll have a Mi3 until 2014 at this rate.
