LG G2 Set to get Android 4.4 KitKat International Release with New Year

LG hears you, G2 owners who live outside of South Korea. They hear you asking when will your G2 device get an update to Android 4.4 like owners of the G2 got in Korea on Christmas day. They have heard you and are prepared to answer, according to a report from Android SAS. The international version of the LG G2 is set to get its OTA (over the air) update to Android Kit Kat on January 1st, 2014.

Gizchina News of the week

Android SAS admits that it did not get this information from an “official source” and didn’t clarify on where it did obtain it, so classify this one squarely under “rumor” but it is still a hopeful sign for owners of the LG G2.

In case you have forgotten, the LG G2 is the Korean manufacturer’s current “flagship” phone, featuring a 5.2 inch 1920×1080 screen, 2GBs of RAM, the Snapdragon 800 chipset featuring a 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, 32GB of on-phone storage, and a 13MP back facing camera.

We will have to wait and see if this report pans out to be correct. We will keep you up to date with information as it becomes available.
