Video hands on with the OnePlus One, plus Style Swap photos

oneplus one video hands on

To round-up our OnePlus One launch coverage today here is a hands on video of the OnePlus One “Flagship Killer” plus a look at the optional Sytle Swap covers.

The OnePlus One, the most talked about brand phone on Twitter today, has launched and at $299 it is easily one of the best phones on the market! I wrote up a hands on with the OnePlus One earlier complete with photos and comparison to the Oppo Find 7a, but nothing beats some real video to get a real idea of a new product.

The OnePlus One in the video is a sample CM11S (but not the final build). This is not meant to be a full review but rather a hands on just to give you all an idea of the phone and it’s functions. We will hopefully get a review phone soon, so keep an eye open for the full review in coming weeks;

OnePlus One Style Swap Cover options

Also at the launch were a selection of OnePlus One phones with wooden Style Swap covers. The wooden options do seem to add a few mm to the overall thickness of the phone, but look and feel great.

Thanks to Alberto for helping me model the Sandstone OnePlus One.

      Better;
      Andi you should give here at Gizchina some invites!

      • April 23, 2014

        I’ve not even got an invite yet 😉 We will certainly try and get some to giveaway, even if it is just me giving away what invites I get for buying the phone.

          everyone should invite another person, so this whole creepy idea will stay annoying for asap

    So how do you get an invite for one of these? Without destroying my current phone (that you know, I need…)

      Find an old phone, proceed to mash like potatoes. IT’S THE ONLY WAY…..

      • April 23, 2014

        But wait for the smash to begin and make sure that OnePlus have agreed with your smash idea before you go ahead though.

        that moment when you realized you’re fu**ed up when you only found your old Nokia 3310 next to your Samsung S5.

    • April 23, 2014

      All we know for now is that the first 100 invites will be given to people who are accepted in to the Smash promotion (don’t smash until you are accepted). I think then each phone will come with a couple of invites so you will either have to know someone with an invite, try and win one, or get one from China (it’s the Xiaomi method of selling them here no invites)

    Nice video.
    Yet another good phone ruined by availability issues.

      It was announced like 10 hours ago, how can it have availability issues…?

        Because they said so themselves? It’s their reason for the invite system.

    Apart from the size of the device, everything else is fabulous 🙂

  6. April 23, 2014

    Remember when their CEO said the OPO would fit under an Xperia Z1? Even took a picture and everything. Good times… Too bad they were lies! This phone is huge. It’s as big as a Note3…
    And apart from its price and custom covers, it offers nothing new.
    I think I will settle for something of a more … normal size.

      well to be fair, the One was under the Z1, only its length was a bit larger

    Are those wooden looking covers really made of wood?

    Do you have any pictures of the notification light on the device. There is a lot of talk about it, but nobody knows what it looks like 😉
