Amoi are one of those sleeping giants and 2014 is the year that they have started to stir and wake-up. Their latest phone is the Amoi A955T, a 6-core phone with 1080 display.

Despite their size and obvious amounts of money, Amoi have yet to really set the tech world a blaze, but the tides are slowly turning with some nice new devices from the brand this year. Their latest model is the Amoi A955T, a 5.5-inch phone, with hexacore processor and 2GB RAM at a great price!

Gizchina News of the week

Amoi launched the Amoi A955T earlier today for just 1099 Yuan ($175), not a bad price at all for a phone boasting the latest 1.5Ghz MT6591 six-core chipset (based on Cortex A7 with a Mali-450 MP4 GPU), 2GB RAMm, 1080 FHD display, 8 mega-pixel camera and 2500mAh battery.

For the more eagle eye’d readers you will have probably already noticed that this version of the phone is the ’T’ model, T for China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA only 3G. A WCDMA model will also make an appearance and there are talks of the phone launching outside of China.

I for one thing this is a bad price for a phone that’s not an octa core and doesn’t have WCDMA. For this price you can find phones that have these features so I find nothing significant about this other than it’s the first 6 core phone.

It would be a great phone but why 5.5 inch?

big screen = need more juice so it cancel out bigger battery (and many 5″-4.7″ have 3000mah anyway) and pocket space
probably alright for those used carrying manbag.
