Xiaomi “Mi Band” smart bracelet could cost 199 Yuan

Wearable device and Android Wear are the big attention grabbers in today’s tech world, so rumours that Xiaomi might be joining the trend are hardly surprising.

Chinese phone makers haven’t been shy to get involved with the wearable tech era. We have seen Android powered “smartphones” on sale for the past 12 months or so, and then there are the companion devices from Huawei, TCL and OPPP that have recently launched.

Not wanting to miss a trick, Xiaomi are now rumoured to be working on their own smart bracelet. Over the past week a few interesting images and posts, including one of CEO Lei Jun wearing a smart device, have cropped up.

From what we have learned the Xiaomi wearable won’t be an Android Wear device but something more similar to the Oppo Oband, and will be designed to simply offer notifications, monitor sports and tell the time.

As usual the Xiaomi device is going to get a price that simple cannot be ignored! Chinese tech sites stating the Xiaomi “Mi Band” could cost just 199 Yuan!
