5.5-inch Huawei Honor will launch 13th October

The number 13 might be unlucky to you or I, but Chinese phone makers are embracing the number with Zopo and now Huawei launching new phones on the date.

Seen on the TENAA site receiving it’s network license for China, the new Huawei Honor is a larger Honor device with 5.5-inch 720p display. Interestingly the specs show a 1.2Ghz processor with 2GB RAM which isn’t likely to be a Mediatek processor. Chances are Huawei will be using a new version of their very own Kirin chipset.

The rest of the spec includes 8GB memory, SD memory card, 5 mega-pixel front camera, 13 mega-pixel rear and Android 4.4 Kitkat with Huawei’s own Emotion UI over the top.

The larger Honor will also feature LTE (FDD and TD) along with dual SIM support.

That’s Snapdragon 410 not Kirin and if it’s the Honor 4 guess it has to cost at least 999CNY since the 4 Play is 799 with slightly lesser specs.

I think Huawei will bring fantastic phones in 2015 , equally good performing with Apple and Samsung phones . They have the potential to become a front runner in the Smartphone market in whole world very soon .

They release too many phones in too short time, who want to buy a phone just to have it obsoleted a few months later? The Honor 3X was discontinuted after only FOUR MONTHS on the market. They even messed up the updates for it, the latest update doesn’t work (and is soon two months old) and the page on the update site was changed to something incorrect and misleading.

Also the Honor 3X Pro which replaced 3X in May/June don’t even have kitkat (only a development version).

How long will they update the over TEN different Honor 3C variants?

      Lenovo is doing much better…

You also have to understand that different people has different choise . So, a lot of phone is exceptable .
They are bad with updates but that doesn’t mean they will be bad for ever .
Talking about Lenovo , they don’t have updates at all .
Huawei has a great future .

About, Lenovo and updates you’re completely off, check http://www.vibeui.com, they update lots of old phones, often too. For example Lenovo S920 from March 2013 is updated to Kitkat, while Huawei flagships from a few months ago are running Android 4.2.

Huawei actually were quite good with updates but are getting worse now, because they flood the market with too many phones. How many phones are released just in the Honor brand in 2014? Probably THIRTY!

People don’t need 15 different models of Honor 3C released in the same year, people need software updates and support.

Hey Andy, no coverage of the Nubia Z7 series (Mini, Max, Z7)? I know except the Z7, all are available and out there, and I personally own a Z7 Max. Wondering why you cover trivial news like Goophone and iPhone clones, but not quality devices from ZTE.
