Doogee’s new flagship actually sounds pretty exciting

doogee flagship

Doogee are currently drumming up press and media interest in their next Android smartphone which will feature a 2.5D 5-inch display, huge battery and octacore MT6753 processor.

It’s no secret that we have been pretty critical of Doogee in the past, and while we do enjoy a good old rant now and again we also have to give credit where it is due and this upcoming photo sure looks the business!

First of all the entire specification of the Doogee flagship has not been decided but we do know what hardware are choosing from, and pretty much any possible combination will turn out rather well. The processor has been confirmed as an octacore MT6753 with Cat 9 LTE support, and the display will be a 5-inch 2.5D model bonded to a CNC machined alloy frame.

The rest of the specs are still up in the air, but we can tell you the choices included either a 3140mAh or 4000mAh internal battery, Sony IMX214 or Samsung ICOSELL main camera and either 2GB, 3GB or 4GB RAM. An Android Lollipop build would be a deal sweetener too!

UPDATE: Doogee have been in touch stating a 2500mAh battery is a possibility too… Looks like they are trying to kill the spec already!

Doogee should have the new phone ready for launch in around 2 months, let’s just hope that Doogee don’t try and squeeze as much profit as possible out of the device before announcing the final specifications and ruining an otherwise nice looking phone.

It’s a new start-up, I think they are trying to improve the brand image, maybe like Elephone and Ecoo . Elephone seem to be improving now, maybe Doogee can do the same.Wait for the reviews before judging too harshly ๐Ÿ™‚

MT6753 with Cat 9 LTE? You must be mistaken or confused with the rel. 9 Cat 4 LTE that is written on the MediaTek site.

Will cost at least 199$, Doogee don`t do cheap phones with over 1GB of RAM.

Doogee should make something really good to be trusted again as company, their old phones appears good on the start, but after a time they just broke up.

I have a Doogee voyager 2 as my backup phone. It came out in August 2014, I think. Has 4.4.2 on it and a couple of firmware updates. Has the best wifi antenna I’ve ever seen.

But no upgrade to 4.4.4 or 5.0 after almost a year. Sell it and forget it.

most chinese brands support their phone (software update to new version of android) for about 3-6 months if you buy a phone in 2015, forget about android M or N in 2016/2017 … Currently I’m not aware of any chinese flagship phone from 2013 which have lollipop …

Man the Voyager 2 will get Android 5 in few days, they already announced it on their webpage and facebook, the DG800, DG310 and DG280 are confirmed to get Android 5.0 in few days, and couple of firmwares updates? it got like 10 updates, that’s a update per month.

Glad I mentioned it or I wouldn’t have known. I have the phone in a box but I’ll pull it out and see if the update is available.

        Thanks for finding this out.
