Dual screen UMi Zero 2 will have 5.2-inch 2.5D covered display

UMi have gone on to release another spec detail about their upcoming UMi Zero 2 in OnePlus-esque fashion.

The UMi Zero 2 is pegged for a 1st September launch, and with a dual-screen displays (front and back), the phone is set to give Yotaphone (and Siswoo Darkmoon) a run for the money.

UMi announced today via their Facebook page that the UMi Zero 2 will have a 5.2-inch display on the front. The company also revealed that the front will be covered in 2.5D curved glass, which is something which is pretty popular with Chinese OEMs at the moment. The first generation of the phone had a Super AMOLED display, which should be enough reason for one to believe that the Zero 2 will have the same display tech.

Gizchina News of the week

There’s no word on the screen resolution, but 1920 x 1080p FHD should perhaps be enough for a screen like that. There’s also a word going around suggesting it would be a 2K panel, but that would be a bit of an overkill for a company that isn’t quite known for its super expensive products.

Details about the rear e-ink display are yet to be made public, so stay tuned for that. We’re really liking this new wave of Chinese phones that aren’t just trying to imitate other international devices, but are actually making them feel the heat most of the time.

Like the phone but rear screen with a protective case on a bit pointless?

so… it will be within nine weeks then (7 weeks from now)… every week one update?

It rather looks like every 5 day update…

Looks to me as a strange planning, ‘every 5 days’. But then it would be 40 days from the first info (8*5). Which means we have 30 days to go from yesterday. Or 46 if we take in account that it might as well be a weekly info….
Ah well…. Whenever… Availability will be more crucial…

I’m curious when presale will start…
And then… Hands on, reviews and comparisons….. It’s the same routine over-and-over again… And in a more-and-more higher frequency too…..

For me it feels a bit unsettling… Whenever I seem to have made my mind up what phone would be my next dream-flagship, a new dream-flagship glooms on the horizon… (Can’t wait to see a manufacturer as bold to name it’s next flagship ‘Titanic’, in that account ;-). )

thought so too the moment i saw the picture. why would they change the release date to ONE day later, then it dawned on me… slash between two numbers can mean “out of”, so it’s one out of nine and two out of nine. then i saw yout post. 🙂
      please change that dear GizChina-team.

Will take replaceable battery over rear screen any day, unless they’re able to make both happen.

On paper, looks great but one would be wise to wait for the reviewers to have a go at the phone before purchasing. With all it’s hype, the first Zero, was just that for UMI.

the display of my umizero comes off at corners. and it was never really in use. laying beside the laptop. google for more, there are many complaints. and now there will be double the amount of display to come of.
sounds, rings, alarms are very bad to hear when you put the phone on the table and the back lies on the table. it is obstructed. Voice quality medium. Security is an issue. Since there are many chinese progs in the rom. you do not know what they really do.

really bad manufacturing quality, efox and shops are not helping at all. Must always send to china. and since january there was no new rom. all bugged stuff. the last rom was a huge necessity, otherwise they would never have done it.

bad phone quality, really bad software. no service at all, no help from the dealers.

stay away for a while and wait for reviews. And dont buy at EFOX. Worst of those dealers.
