Kingzone N5: MT6735(P?), but with a 5-inch screen

Of late, we’ve seen a flurry of phones with screens larger than 5 inches in size. However, more and more manufacturers are beginning to realize that they’re missing out on the section of the market that still prefers 5-inch phones.

Kingzone is one of those manufacturers. With the new N5, the phone hopes to win the hearts of the aforementioned 5-inch phone fans. The N5 is listed with an MT6735 processor, but looking at the operating frequency of 1.0GHz, I believe it’ll be the MT6735P which also comes with the Oukitel U8 (review) and Doogee Y100 Pro (review).

Gizchina News of the week

Other specifications of the 5-inch totting Kingzone N5 include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, a 13 mega-pixel rear camera and a 5 mega-pixel front facing camera. With that, there’s a 2600mAh removable battery.

Design wise, the Kingzone N5 looks a little like the Oukitel U8, which has similar specifications with the addition of a fingerprint scanner. The front of thr N5 however is different enough for you to tell between the phone.

The phone is priced at US$119.99 for now, right at par with the Doogee Y100 Pro. Coupon code KZN5 will however bring the price down to US$112 on the Everbuying store.

The start of 2015 gave us some exciting MT6732 phones such as the Elephone P6000, which were priced similarly… do these MT6735 phones excite you the same way?

Quite frankly Kingzone have such a trail of deception, false promises and substandard products in their history with the N3, the N3 Plus and the Z1; I am surprised they have the nerve to even attempt to stay in the phone market. They treat their customers as idiots and just blatantly ignore customer concerns by shutting down any discussion on their forums that raise any issues related to product specifications and quality.

Kingzone need to learn that “features and functions” alone do not garner customer loyalty; reputable, honest and responsive attention to customer issues is of far greater importance.

MT6735 might excite me; but certainly not if it is encased in a Kingzone body!
