Meizu sends invites for 26th Aug event in India

Meizu has sent out press invites for a ‘Brand Launch’ event scheduled for 26th of August in India.

The date coincides with the leaked launch date for the MX5 for the country, which we earlier reported about. The Meizu MX5 was launched a couple of months back in China.

The invite itself doesn’t say much apart from ‘Brand Launch’, and thus that Meizu will launch the MX5 is still not confirmed and is only speculation for now. Meizu has had problems in India; buyers have had more, from what I’ve been hearing. People have been asked to wait for months or ship back the phone to China/HK to get repairs completed, which is outrageous.

Meizu brand

The 26th August ‘Brand Launch’ will hopefully bring more local presence from Meizu along with the launch of the MX5.

The Meizu MX5 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD screen, Helio X10 2.2GHz octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, a 20.7MP laser-autofocus enabled camera and a 3000mAh battery. You can read our full review of the MX5 here.

Right. I can confirm it’s a LOT better on the A firmware. Planning to do another update to the review… But the moral is that it’s fine. 🙂

Any plans to launch to Meizu M2 in India? I reckon it would be a hot seller directly competing against the Redmi 2 Prime.
