Lenovo’s Vibe S1 has two selfie cameras for some reason

We’ve seen phones with duo rear cameras, and we’ve seen them with powerful front facing cameras. But what happens when you want ‘the best of both worlds’? The Lenovo Vibe S1.

If you didn’t get what that meant, let me put it out straight for you: the Lenovo Vibe S1 is the first phone to have dual front cameras! You read it right, dual front cameras; 8 mega-pixel plus 2 mega-pixel. What Lenovo are trying to achieve with this is what HTC attempted with the One M8 (on the rear cameras); allow for better depth calculation and thus, better photo editing and depth effects.

For one, you could completely defocus the background and get the sought-after bokeh effect in your selfies. Of course, the extra camera and the tonnes of extra information it will be able to capture will allow the built-in apps to allow you to edit the pictures much better.

Moving on, the phone is powered by one of our favourite MediaTek processors — the MT6752, which seems to have gone out of favour recently for some reason. The 1.7GHz octa-core processor has 3GB of RAM to boot along with 32GB of on-board expandable storage.

Oh, did I mention the display yet? Besides two cameras, the Vibe S1 does indeed have a display on the front — a 5-inch, 1920 x 1080p FHD one at that. Other than that, the S1 has a 13 mega-pixel rear camera with dual LED flash, and a 2500mAh battery.

Agreed, that 6752 processor will chew through that battery in half a day.

Finally a 5-incher with 3GB ram, thin bezels, capacitive buttons, and no 6753 after a long long time. I guess resellers price will be somewhere around $300, right?
