Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Mi 4 and Mi 4i prices drop at reseller stores

xiaomi mi4c review

If there’s one company that is a favourite for resellers (in China) and buyers (international) alike, it has to be Xiaomi.

Folks from countries where the company isn’t official love to get hold of their products, which makes Xiaomi a natural hot favourite. While there are tonnes of Xiaomi products still obscure for international buyers, it is their budget phones that interest one and all.

Three of Xiaomi’s most popular products, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, the long-favourite Mi 4 and the Mi 4i from earlier this year are now being offered at discounted prices. The Redmi Note 2 is $174.99, while the Mi 4 (international edition) and the Mi 4i (32GB version) are 209.99 and $257.49 respectively.

Gizchina News of the week

So, if you’ve been holding back from buying a Xiaomi phone for the prices, now might be a good time. The deals can be availed via Everbuying.net between 13th and 27th of this month.

While I haven’t been able to use the Redmi Note 2 yet, the Mi 4 remains to be a phone that I’m very fond of.

if you’re looking for a nice 5″ then the MI4 for $200 is a no brainer.
Good build quality, performance (much snappier with MIUI V7) very good f1.8 camera.

Plus it’s on the list of phones that are getting Marshmellow (i don’t know when though).

It’s amazing they they are still trying to peddle the Mi4i for more money than the Mi4. One of the biggest disasters in Xiaomi history.

I’m afraid they’ll ended up with a lot of backstock.

That’s one time I was wrong lol. I though it would sell very well, then I actually used one. It’s not terrible if you only do the basics, but even the slightest performance increase and it comes to a crashing halt.

when it came out i also said that i was going to trade my MI4 for the MI4i.

for $200 the MI4i was a great deal (on paper).
Xiaomi didn’t do anything wrong with it, the problem was the SoC.

If the SD615 did the job it was supposed to do then we were talking about something else.

Now everybody praising the MI4c which is literally the MI4i with an updated SoC.

              October 21, 2015

Yeah agree, if Xiaomi could just rip out the sd615 from the mi4i and put in some sd808 it would be great. And Qualcomm really screwed up this year.

            • October 21, 2015

They kind of did that with the 4c anyway, its just about clearing the leftover 4i stock which is something very important for a company like Xiaomi that can ill-afford inventory costs and stock pile ups.

Now with FREE added lag, poor multitouch and high ram use!!

    • MaxPower
      October 20, 2015

we are not on Windows, ram is there to be used. that’s how Android works.
what are you going to do with an unused ram? LoL

Miui might be one of the heaviest rom but when you have 3GB on board you’ll be fine.

i never clean the running apps, i restart the phone once a month (for updates)
and i never go more than 2.2GB used ram over 3GB.
And when i say that all my apps are open i really mean all of them.

Same as Maxpower said, when I had my Mi4 and Mi3 before it I never had any issues with memory. Can’t say I had an issue with multitouch on the Mi4 either.

This is a sale for a particular site, Everbuying. Previously they were selling the Note 2 for $184.

Can anybody suggest me a CDMA phone equal to the capability of Meizu M2 mini that was released a few days back in India…

Performance of M2 and it look is great for the price my brother has bought this.
unfortunately it does not support CDMA. I am looking to ditch my
    Blackberry 8520 CDMA version.

    Help needed guys

      October 20, 2015

well, unfortunately it’s going to be hard for you.
the reason is that the major Chinese companies don’t operate abroad and for this reason they don’t make cdma phones, but only GSM.

there are some brands that make CDMA version of their phones, ZTE is one of them. But again, no much choice here too.

what do you think about the Nubia Z5s mini?

try searching cdma2000 on aliexpress, but forget about new 64bit SoC phones.

      • balcobomber25
        October 21, 2015

Blu is strictly GSM at the moment, that could change one day but as of right now they only operate on ATT and Tmobile (along with all their sub networks).

China Telecom runs a CDMA network.

        • MaxPower
          October 21, 2015

does it? i didn’t know that.
so why all those companies don’t make CDMA version of their phones.
          Or do they?

Hi there, I am willing to order the Mi4c. Should I go for the 2gb or
3gb ram version? The Mi4c with 3gb ram is sold around $280 by resellers
which is a bit expensive considering the additional shipping costs with
DHL (+$20). A friend suggested me to wait for the Mi5 but when this one
will be released it will be sold around $400 which is above my budget.
The best deal that I can have is the Mi4c 3gb at $264 without shipping
costs. The Mi4 is still an amazing phone but I don’t like white color
and 16gb storage might not be enough in long term usage. I need a 5 inch
            phone.

              October 21, 2015

              everything you said make sense.
so you have only one option which is the MI4c 3GB/32GB.

            • Julian
              October 21, 2015

Thank you for your answer, I really wanted to get the Mi4 in white color for its attractive price, better build quality and design. But I really think that the dual sim + lte frequencies in the Mi4c are huge advantages. I am not forgetting the weight of the phone and the better GPU in the Mi4c. I think that I will order the MI4C in 3gb ram version. 2gb ram could be ok for me but I have seen some videos where only a few mb were left. I can deal with the 16gb (well 10gb) of storage but my main concern is the ram. I don’t think that I will do multitasking a lot but MIUI is using a lot of ram. Just scared to be short of ram.

I am speaking about the WCDMA version of the MI4. 🙂

              October 21, 2015

i didn’t even ask you if you are a power user or not because that’s no need.

hearing about “long term use” was enough for me to tell you go with 3GB/32GB.

i own a MI4 right now, and while the metal frame makes it look more fancy, it has the downside of being more bulky and heavy.

Both GPUs can handle everything on the playstore with ease.

what you have to worry is the 16GB because it fills in minutes if you take videos and pics.

so go with the 4C 3/32 and you won’t regret.

They do. It’s China’s third largest mobile network so it’s not smart to ignore. Even the Mi4 and Mi Note have CDMA versions for use on China Telecom. They might be carrier locked, though.

thanks @MaxPower, I am still not getting anything seriously packing a punch like meizu m2 mini in a good price bracket. maybe i should change my sim to GSM instead of CDMA

        • MaxPower
          October 27, 2015

With CDMA you will probably rely only on carrier locked devices.

GSM is the way to go if you want more options.

I think everyone is anxiously waiting for the Mi5 now that it’s been what, going on 14 months since the launch of the Mi4 the Mi5 is definitely overdue. Maybe between launching air purifiers, suitcases, and self balancing scooters they lost their focus.

Yea I’m surprised with how long they have gone without releasing the Mi 5. Only thing I can come up with is they are waiting for the SD820 to be ready for mass production.

Or you could consider Honor 7. Does it available in your country? Well Mi4C is worth it for that price range. A flagship spec fone with a price cheaper than Oppo R7..
