Following on from this mornings GFXbench leaks are images that confirm specs of the Vivo Xplay 5. Keep reading for more.
Looking at the most recent GFXbench listings, and these newly leaked Vivo Xplay 5 advertisements, it looks like the Vivo Xplay 5 specs are pretty much confirmed and that includes 4GB RAM and the curved display.
The images posted on Weibo today (which could still be fake) show the Vivo Xplay 5 in pink, gold, silver colour options, with a touch fingerprint scanner on the rear, dual LED flash and rear 16 mega-pixel camera. The design is similar to the current Vivo X6 Plus, but with a screen size of just 5.43-inch the physical size of the phone will be smaller.
Speaking of the display, the images clearly show a curved front panel in the same style as the display on the Samsung S7 Edge, but which less of a curved area. The screen is listed as being a Super AMOLED model with 2K resolution (which matches this mornings benchmarks).
Gizchina News of the week
The specs also list just 4GB RAM, where as Vivo’s own teasers mention 6GB RAM. 4GB RAM is also what the benchmarks listed, so is this a ‘lite’ version of the Xplay 5? We won’t know for sure, but very early Vivo Xplay 5 leaks did mention that Vivo might be using 2GB memory for graphics only, were not sure if this is the case or how that will work with the Snapdragon 820 but it would explain the difference in specs. There could also be 2 versions of the phone launching that would explain these specs and the earlier teasers.
Internal memory of the phone is listed at 128GB, or which 111GB is expected to be available to the user.
For those of you planning to buy the Vivo Xplay 5 from China and ship it home it might be worth noting that the specs here list the phone as having only FDD-LTE support for bands 1 and 3, however in the past Vivo (and Oppo) phones have been proven to work on more international bands than officially listed and hopefully this might be the case here.
Other specifications include a 3600mAh battery, which judging from the optimisation on the Vivo X6 Plus could be good for over 2 days of use easily. A 16 mega-pixel camera and front 8 mega-pixel camera are also mentioned.
One last interesting detail is the left hand image on the second leak. This photo shows that the Vivo Xplay 5’s Funtouch OS has dual screen support built-in meaning you can run 2 apps at once! Very cool.
It still remains to be seen if these leaks are the real deal, but we will know for sure tomorrow.
Haha I am a huge THL fan but even I wouldn’t compare them to Vivo….
Haha Now we know if someday Vivo stop their business at least we have THL.
Can’t believe you put vivo and thl in the same sentence! Lol
indeed, maybe they will release the flagship in summer? i know they dont make alot of phones each year, they just focus on a few
Please, please, please let these be fake, where’s the 6″ display? Hoping this is just a lite version and the full version has 6gb ram and a 6″ display otherwise I will have to keep looking for my perfect phone. The only good news I suppose is that vivo are known for leaking ‘fake specs/images’, really hoping this is the case here.
5.43 inches is about the perfect screen size for me.
That’s been listed like that for over a year that I know of, so don’t take any notice of it!
Yea don’t go by resellers they often post phones months before an official launch and they guess on specs/price or go off of leaks.
Vivo has been teasing SD820 and 6GB of RAM ,this one is SD652(showed up in Geekbench and GFXBench) and 4GB so there must be another model.
Maybe they go like Apple, 5 is small and 5s is big.
On these pictures it seems like copy&paste iDiot&S6 Edge. I doubt it will support B1/3/7/8/20 tho but will check specs tomorrow 🙂 I was stupid I didn’t use 50$ coupon for OP2 week ago.
I tried to go back to my OP2 for MWC, can’t stand it. Much prefer the OPX, Mi5
I was thinking about OPX too, but everybody is bitch*n about camera (saying that on OP2 is better). And I was waiting for Mi5, but due to lack of LTE bands it’s useless for me :/ Otherwise I’d have perfect phone for me (in Prague LTE with Mi5 is fine – but when I go somewhere else it’s gonna be edge only as they are switching 3G off here).
OPX camera is ok, not Op2 standards but not bad. The OPX seems snappier and more responsive to me compared to the OP2. Also, OPX seems to have fewer bugs and is much nicer to carry and stick in your pocket.
I will wait for ZUK, what they are going to bring in March and then I will decide which phone I’m going to buy. After 4 years tho ^^ Truth is, that OP (OP2 & OPX) have everything I need (glonass, my lte bands, fhd screen not bigger than 5,5″). Also was considering Honor 7.
Just between you and me (before I write the post) the next ZUK is a mini phone with Helio P10 chipset
True that. I wish I knew for how long my phone will stay alive so I could wait maybe for next OP (coz if I would go for OPX, it would be only ceramic version – not sure if glass would survive some fridays :)).
Damn. I was waiting for the next ZUK as i currently own the first one and I’m really happy with it.
Waiting for your post…
i’m also looking for soemthign..but i’ll probably wait a few more months to see if anything comes from letv or meizu, as i like the mi5 design but i want a bigger display 🙁 looking towards 5,5″~
I am not a fan of the OP2 at all, but remembered he was. Wondering what changed his mind.
Eh I think the S6/7 Edge is one of the ugliest phones ever made (except the recent design disasters by LG) so I am not a fan of this look.
