While the phone itself might have been taken its sweet time to launch, OTA’s for the UMi Touch have been rolling out in good time.
This is the 2nd OTA of the all metal UMi Touch released for the phone since its delayed launch earlier this year. UMi say that they have been listening to user feedback and that this second update addresses some of the issues people had with Google.

OTA UMITOUCH.V.3.03_20160400, also have battery optimizations to boost usage, there are also updates to the rear 13 mega-pixel Sony IMX328 rear camera to improve speed, and remove nice from low light images.
If you don’t already have a notification on your Touch for the OTA head in to the settings > about phone > wireless updates > check for updates, as this OTA sounds worthwhile.
We still don’t have a sample of the Touch, so if anyone has any comments about this phone or the current OTA’s please let us know below.
The good news, Chinese mobile phone manufacturers began to focus on software, ulefone, Umi is a good representative.

My Tomtop pre-ordered Umi Touch got dispatched on the weekend, so I’m patiently waiting to try it out, so far I’ve seen a YouTube video showing bad video recording but I believe Umi have recognized that as a software fault and have fixed it in a fw update… Otherwise, from what I’ve seen around YouTube, it looks like a pretty solid phone for the money especially!
I received my Umi Touch, the camera getting better and better after I updated the two FTOA, Umi told me they will improve the performance continuously.

There may be a problem with the home button which makes funny noises and sticks. It is unsure if this is only a problem with the early issues which has since been fixed by the company. We will see when ours finally arrive.
It also seems that the battery is not as large as claimed. It may be as small as 3400mAh instead of 4000.
a guy in a forum tested it and was around the 4000 mark.
OTA updates is always good news for Chinese companies. I have really bad opinion about UMi, but if she starts being a fair company, I will change my mind, someday… =P

I also was impressed by the battery life, I can’t use my Meizu for whole day, even though I adjust the screen light to the lowest level. I want to purchase a Umi Touch, where can I buy?
Well, you can relese updates that contain nothing and say you have optimized the battery, camera speed, and some issues with google. When Gizchina commentors, who often don’t use this phone, hear that the company has released 2 updates in so short time, they’ll say “wow, UMI has become a good company!”. That’s what UMI want. But real users will finally prove if they have done really good. I want to mention that when Ulefone released 6 updates for Ulefone Paris, each of them contain specific upgrades. What’s more important, Ulefone Paris is originally good phone. And UMI touch, i don’t know.
i kinda understand your feeling, this is only because you haven’t test the phone between this two firmware. if you did you won’t say that.
I also updated the newest FOTA in my Umi touch, camera is better, fingerprint is more sensitive, umi is a trustworthy company.
So far the issue that I’m seeing on this phone:
– It has a 4000mAh battery (someone measured it as 3600) and the charging is limited to 1A. Slow charge D:
I am not sure about this. I owned the touch it pleased me the most is that everyday one time charge only. when i got to bed i still have 50% remaining.
Yeah we should treat those tests with 2 grains of salt, as the amperometer isn’t the most reliable way to measure it. Although more than 3500mAh would do a great job in MT6753. This is the 1.5Ghz variant though.
