Vernee Thor is getting first firmware update

First batches of the new Vernee Thor have already arrived at their destinations so Vernee is really trying hard to be on schedule. And already showing some customer support activity in form of the first firmware update, which should be already available via OTA.

Gizchina News of the week

What are the main improvements in the new firmware ? For starters major optimaltization of the wallpapers on the lockscreen, speed improvements for the fingerprint scanner, dual SIM standby mode improvements and fixing the slight overheating of the phone during charging, Few more tweaks and new functions have been also added so you can check out the Vernee official forums for the full list or to voice your own concerns there.

If you don’t know how to update the Thor then nothing easier than to just check out the following screenshots with the guide.

    Uhmmm… Promising.

I don’t care for lower specification devices, but this is a good indicator of what migth come with the full featured APOLLO…

    Will keep fingers crossed.

    Short list, as of now:

    1. ZUK Z2 PRO (MAX ( MAX= 5.7″ screen))
    2. HUAWEI HONOR V8
    3. OP3 (IF ANY GOOD)
    4. VERNEE APOLLO FULL FEATURED
    5. GIONE ELIFE E9 (MY FAVOURITE IF EVER TO BE PRODUCED (MORE SO IF BLU MAKES A REVRANDED VERSION OF IT))

Because the 1 was good, innovative and cheap.

the 2 came out that way(not so good) because they spent resources making an almost useful SD810 phone.

This year they can concentrate on making a great phone without worrying about the SoC.

I’m expecting US LTE bands (or at least few of them like the OP1)
Fast charge again (maybe VOOC) NFC and a good camera.

No prejudices, the problem is that they haven’t come out with a good true flahship yet.

If one day they will provide one, and they will build a good support community (even a freaking forum with a moderator) then we can discuss about it.

As you can see I haven’t even mention the price, they don’t have to be as cheap as the big ones as long they will bring some solid stuff without the BS of preorders…

Problem is, the leaked photos are not promising. They look like old HTC style design, single led flash, and a very outdated front design. I haven’t yet ordered my mi5 due to zuk breaking the game with their z2 pro, and I am extremely optimistic about oneplus 3, but worried they will fail us for big long time this time.

My guess is that they will stay with 5.5″ rather than going to 5.2″ like many are doing lately.
But I really don’t have anything concrete to back it up, it simply came from my guts lol.

The first One was very cheap for that moment, and offered the best of technology at that time. And in the case of 2 they had to spent a long time trying to overpass the 810 problems.

Specs saying, I think, only think, it will feature 6GB of Ram in a “Pro” variant, one only spec that should be enough to impress western markets over their flagships, was quite what the OP1 made back in 2014. Rest, is just quit that invite system…

        • MaxPower
          May 12, 2016

They won’t quit the invite system for many reasons.

That’s the way they keep with inventory, to control the demand, to stay within the price and to push their PRO version that brings more money into their pocket.

When you get the invite you can bet that it’s for the more expensive version.
