New EleCam 360 Mini action camera in the making

Seems like Elephone is planning to expand their action camera portfolio and the Elephone Ele Explorer and Explorer Ele Pro are getting new sibling with EleCam 360 Mini.

The information about it is pretty scarce so far, but the company claims it should be the first camera capable of the 360 degree shooting with seven different modes. It should have the same 2-inch display as the predecessors and be available in black and white color variants.

Gizchina News of the week

Hopefully more exact info is coming our way from the Elephone headquarters the next days, but for now we at least have some photos to have some idea about the new EleCam 360 Mini looks.

I thought there’s should be 2 sensor at least for taking 360 degree pic/vid.
I bet this camera would taking rounded pic/vid, like when u use cheap fish eye lens rather than 360 degree.

360 video is starting to become a trend on Youtube and other sites.

For those making money out of Google AdSense would be prudent to buy one to wow their viewers.

I’m not sure if you film while the device is pointed to the sky or you need two units back-to-back to get 99% of visuals.

Maybe there is a mode to section out the middle of the capture to not be so fish-eyed. Maybe an algorithm to reduce the fish-eye effect?

Overall I think people will simply buy the 360 cams and also the standard sport cams for their filming.

        No…
I mean you can take a look of recorded video of other 360 camera like samsung gear 360, lg 360 cam, or ricoh theta. That’s 360 degree camera.

And this ele cam is more likely would be like the amkov amk100s. Which will record 180 degree at max (not 360 degree like they said) or rounded video like the use of cheap fish-eye lens.

Is this solely for filming 260 degree video or will it be also suitable for fisheye style GoPro results? If the resolution is goo enough they may capture a middle section to give the impression it’s a standard sports camera.

Maybe there’s a future for Open Street Maps to get a Google Street View outcome.
