It’s a big day for Xiaomi Indian fans. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 was officially unveiled at an event in China back in September and since then, it hasn’t been available in the Indian Market. Today, Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Mi Mix 2 after a long absence of its flagship device from the Indian Market.
Xiaomi has announced that the device will be available exclusively on Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home and Xiaomi’s offline partners. Pre-registration starts from October 17 while actual availability is from 1st week of November. Only the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will be available in India, you may have to use unofficial channel if you prefer other options.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 carries on the bezel-less display legacies of the Mi Mix 1 with few enhancements. The device comes with a bezel-free 5.99-inch full-HD (1080×2160 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio) LCD display with a pixel density of 403ppi and support for DCI-P3 color gamut.
The phone is made of an aluminum frame with ceramics back panel, but a special edition Mi Mix 2 with a full unibody ceramic design is available in China. Xiaomi has traded the piezoelectric speaker on the original Mi Mix for an actual speaker, while the front-facing camera is still position in a way that will require you to hold the phone upside-down for selfies.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 packs the top end flagship Snapdragon 835 SoC which is now the preferred choice for most top end 2017 flagship phones. The device has 6GB of RAM and 8GB RAM for the all ceramics variant. The regular variant includes an internal storage of 64GB and 256GB option, while the limited edition is limited to just 128GB of storage.
The device runs on Android Nougat with MIUI 9 on top and comes equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with facial recognition. The Mi MIX 2 is lighted by a 3400mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
