We’ve seen a few super flagship smartphones with little or no bezels in the past few months, but HTC was yet to explore that option. The company has today alongside the HTC U11 life announced the HTC U11+, a refresh of the U11 announced back in May and con-incidentally its first ever bezel-free phone.
Encased in an IP68-certified body, which ensures it stays unhurt in 1.5m of freshwater for up to 30 minutes, the HTC U11+ features a beautifully crafted large near bezel-free display that could see it go against flagships from LG, Samsung and others.
Available in Ceramic Black, Amazing Silver and Translucent Black with a semi-transparent rear, the HTC U11+ looks taller than the base U11, thanks to its 18:9 aspect ratio. The device comes in at 158.5 x 74.9 x 8.5mm and weighs 188 grams. By that, it means the U11+ is not only taller than its predecessor, it is also a bit heavier, but we are told not much of the difference are felt in actual usage.
HTC has harnessed the larger size of the device by packing in a much larger 3,930mAh battery and improved speakers which it says is about 30 percent louder than those on the U11.The HTC U11+ has ditched the 3.5mm audio jack in favor of an ANC enabled USonic headphones which can be used via USB-C port.
Beyond the slight alteration in designs, a larger 6.0-inches LCD 6 display and larger battery capacity, all what the HTC U11+ packs inside matches that of the base U11 including: top rated Snapdragon 835 processor, same 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, UltraSpeed autofocus, OIS and dual-LED flash as on the U11, and a 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage option or 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage combination.
