The Huawei Nova 2s is finally official, following series of leaks, rumors, and press render. Virtually all there is to know about the Huawei Nova 2s in design and specs have all been covered in the leaked images surfaced and specs that surfaced in the last couple of days. The mid-range device so announced today will take over from the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus as the most high end of the Nova family.

The device has a premium metal and glass chassis with dimensions 156.9×75.1×7.5mm and 169 grams. The device has quite rounded corners with two camera sensor above the display and a front-facing fingerprint sensor down the display.

It flaunts a 6-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood is a 64-bit octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC coupled with Mali G71 Octa-core GPU. The device is available in two different variants – a Nova 2s with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, Nova 2s with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space. Huawei also announced a special edition Yixing Zhang Nova 2s with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space.

A major highlight of the Nova 2s is its camera configuration, the device comes with quad camera setup.  On the flip side, you have a 16MP RGB + 20MP monochrome sensor with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, PDAF,  and 4K video recording, while it has a 20-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture and 2-megapixel dual-camera setup above the display. It also supports face recognition. The device boots Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin out of the box, while the power is supplied by a 3,340mAh battery.  The connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / Glonass, NFC and USB Type-C.

Huawei Nova 2s

The Huawei Nova 2s  should hit the shelves soon in Black, Gray, Red, Rose Gold and Blue color options. As for pricing, the Nova 2s will retail at 2699 yuan (US$ 408 / Rs. 26,350 approx.), 2999 yuan (US$ 454 / Rs. 29,265 approx.), and 3399 yuan (US$ 514 / Rs. 33,165 approx.) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB variant, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and the special Yixing Zhang customized 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs.
