MPOW D6 Review: Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Rival At Lower Price Tag

MPOW D6

The world’s most popular smartband is considered to be the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. Its market share is about 15%. It even has outrun such beasts as Apple, Fixbit, and Samsung. But this list is going to change in the nearest future. Many manufacturers have joined the race. Huawei has launched the Honor A2, Oukitel has launched the A18, MGCOOL has introduced the Band 3, and so on. As you see, all those companies that want to compete with Xiaomi and other top brands have already managed to come with their own ultra-budget fitness trackers. Today we are going to take a closer look at one of such products coming our way from MPOW, a well-known company specialized in making headphones/speakers, phone accessories, and car accessories. The new Xiaomi Mi Band 2 rival is dubbed as the MPOW D6.

MPOW D6 Appearance

The MPOW D6 looks identical to other smartbands. But this doesn’t mean it has nothing to boast of in terms of appearance. Vice versa, this fitness tracker comes with a well-designed look sporting a 0.87-inch screen with a resolution of 128×32 pixels. While you may think this is a small screen, it is quite sufficient to display everything you need. There is also a touch key to interact with the smartband. Actually, it works properly without lags.

The next difference in comparison to other models, the MPOW D6 main body is detachable. At this moment, there is only one color option (black), but most likely the manufacturer will come in with straps in various colors to meet customers’ needs.

The straps are made of TPU, but thanks to the high-quality material and matte surface, we have a feeling as they are made of a better material such as silicone. The clasp is made of stainless steel.

MPOW D6 Hardware

This smartband is powered by the nRF52832 SoC, which is a powerful, highly flexible ultra-low power multiprotocol chip ideally suited for Bluetooth Smart apps. This processor is based on a 32-bit ARM Cortex architecture. It is paired with a 512kB ROM and 64kB RAM. The nRF52832 SoC comes with a hardware-level Bluetooth 5 support. One of the main advantages of this chip is the EasyDMA support that simply means it has s direct memory access.

The MPOW D6 sports a 90mAh battery that can fully charge in 1.5 hours and keep alive for up to 15 days. However, if you are a heavy user, most likely you will charge it more frequently.

MPOW BAND Features and MPOW BAND APP

The MPOW D6 smartband itself provides only a few types of features. The lock screen only shows the time when you raise your hand. A single tap on the touch key will make the smartband show the remaining power, time, and date.

MPOW D6

As for the main features, this fitness tracker offers three of them including a pedometer, heart rate monitor, and sleep monitor.

Conclusion
