Sometimes last week, we got the scoop that Samsung is seemingly working on a Galaxy S9 mini, however, there appeared to be some confusion about the device as two alleged Galaxy S9 mini with different model numbers surfaced on the web. Today, we can now finally set the controversy behind us as Twitter leakster MMDDJ_ has given us specific details of the upcoming device.
As per a tweet from leakster MMDDJ_, the Samsung device with model number SM-G8850 will be announced as the Galaxy A8 Star, while the SM-G8750 will be marketed as the Galaxy S8 lite.
China’s TENAA has made a few alterations to the specs it initially listed for the one with the model number SM-G8850. Initially listed with a 5.8” screen and a dual 12 MP rear camera, the updated specs sheet says the device with the model number SM-G8850 will now include a 6.28” Super AMOLED with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution, 16 MP + 24 MP main camera, 24 MP selfie, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB storage and 3,700 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite with the model number SM-G8750 first appeared on Geekbench a few days back. With a display resolution of 2220×1080 pixels, the Galaxy S8 Lite with the model number SM-G8750 is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor clocked at 1.84GHz. The phone also runs Android 8.0 Oreo, and it comes with 4GB of RAM.
We are however not convinced yet that the SM-G8750 will be the Galaxy S8 lite, and the device with model number SM-G8850 as the Galaxy A8 star, as Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed same.
