Honor 7X will be updated to Oreo in the US on Monday

The Honor 7X was one of the latest releases from the Huawei sub-brand to hit the shelves before the end of 2017. The handset came packing some nice specifications and a lot of styles thanks to the availability of multiple color variants. Sadly the smartphone was launched with Android Nougat, instead of the latest Oreo, but apparently, this is about to change.

If you bought your Honor 7X in the US, you’ll be happy to know that an Oreo update is now right around the corner. The US Official Honor Twitter’s account has announced that the rollout of the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the form of EMUI 8.0 will be reaching the US units of the Honor 7X on Aprill 30, two days ahead.

The newest update will bring all the goodies introduced by Google with the latest Android release, that include the picture-in-picture mode, Autofill API, Notification Channels and Snoozing features. However, this isn’t everything, since all the EMUI 8.0 neat features will also make a presence in the update, so users will also have Face Unlock, Floating Navigation Dock, A Restore option for deletes pictures in the stock gallery and the ability to connect with two Bluetooth devices at once. Last but not least, the Settings UI will be getting a new refresh design on this new update.

The beta builds for Honor 7X started to rollout for users signed in the beta program on the last month, apparently, the testing phase is finally concluded and a global release following the US release may be imminent. Worth noting that this update should follow a specific phase, and not everyone will be contempled with the Oreo notification in Monday, but don’t worry, it should come in the following days.
