Nokia X6 with dual-rear cameras, face unlock, and display notch goes oficial

Nokia X6

Following series of leaks, rumors and renders, HMD Global at an event in China today unveiled the Nokia X6 – its latest mid-range device, the first member of the resurrected Nokia X-series, and its first notched smartphone. Priced at about the same price as the Nokia 6.1, the Nokia X6, however, outscores the Nokia 6.1 especially in terms of design and hardware.

Outside of the notched display with an aspect ratio of 19:9, the latest gadget features an all-glass design and dual rear camera setup. The Nokia X6, for the most part, is made of sleek frame and a compact form Gorilla lined with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on either side.

On the display front is a 5.8-inch FHD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and ultra slim bezels on the sides, while the Nokia branding can be found on the bottom bezel. Under the hood, the Nokia X6 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage or 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Both variants allow you to expand the memory up to 256GB with microSD, but only if you are willing to sacrifice the second SIM slot.

Much like most recent mid-range device, the Nokia X6 comes fitted with a dual camera setup at the back comprising of a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel monochrome sensor, with a f/2.0 aperture, 1-micron pixels, while a capable 16-megapixel camera with the same f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor sits inside the display notch. Both front facing and the dual rear cameras are aided by some nifty AI tricks – background blur, face recognition, dynamic expression, and filters.

For this price its gona be a bestseller for sure. Too bad there’s no NFC or wireless charging even though it has glass back. Camera is kinda disapointing with only f/2.0 aperture, hopefully it will shoot good photos anyway.

LOL! That notch gets bigger and bigger with every new pic and render. Still, if it comes in at $200 USD it will be a big seller.
