The device is made from a light and sturdy 7 Series aluminum, with flat edges all the way around, with slim, angled chamfers on the front and the back. Much like the Blackberry KeyOne, the Key2 gets a redesigned physical keyboard with keys that are more responsive and 20 percent larger than those on the KeyOne. The Keys are backlit and has the fingerprint sensor fitted into the spacebar.

The device boots Android Oreo out of the box and that means it comes with Google apps including the Play Store, and in addition to BlackBerry’s security, privacy, and productivity tools, the Key2 should get monthly security update from Google.

Occupying most of the front panel is a 4.5-inch display with 1620×1080 resolution, 434 PPI, and 3:2 aspect ratio, while under its hood is the Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with X12 LTE modem for faster cellular performance in areas with great 4G coverage. It has 6GB of RAM coupled with 64/128GB of storage which is expandable up to 256GB using microSD card.

It comes fitted with a dual 12-megapixel sensor with 2x optical zoom and depth sensing for blurry backgrounds in Portrait Mode, while an 8MP sensor sits above the display. The device is fueled by a 3,500mAh battery and is available in Black color option.
