Tecno launches Camon iAIR2+, Camon i2, Camon i2X with dual VoLTE, dual rear cameras in India


Tecno Mobile – the main Smartphone brand of the Transsion Holdings has updated its Camon i series of Smartphones with the launch of three new budget smartphone in India. Dubbed the Tecno Camon iAir2+, Camon i2, and Tecno Camon i2X, the three new entrants are successors to the Camon iAce and iSky2 launched in the country about a month ago.

All three devices are virtually the same featuring the same design,  with minimal bezels on the sides, a slim chin, a notch above the screen as well as similar internal makeup. Touted as “AI camera-centric smartphones”, the three new smartphones are all stuffed with some AI-based features including AI-based scene detection, AI Soft Light, AI Beauty Mode, and AI-based Bokeh Mode. All three devices are fitted with the same display size, same processor, dual rear cameras, and single front-facing cameras.

Based on Android 8.1 Oreo, the new Tecno Camon phones come with a 6.2-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9, a 2.5D curved glass, and a screen notch. Under the hood, the Tecno Camon iAir2+, and the Camon i2 house a MediaTek MTK6761 Quad core chipset, while the Tecno Camon i2X house a MediaTek MTK6762 Octa-core chipset. Talking of the storage, the Camon iAIR2+ gets 2 GB RAM + 32 GB storage ,  the Camon i2 gets 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, while the Camon i2X, on the other hand, make do with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storages.

In terms of optics, all three phones come fitted with dual camera setup on the back. While the Tecno Camon i2x has a 13-megapixel primary sensor backed by a f/1.8 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor, plus a 16-megapixel sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash at the front, the Tecno Camon iAir2+ and Tecno Camon i2 feature a 13 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 2 MP depth-sensing camera, while a 16Mp sensor and an 8MP sensor sit at the front of the front of the iAir2 and i2 respectively.
