Earlier today, Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, released four smartphones which include Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design. The more sophisticated Mate 20 RS Porsche design is at its peak but is it really worth the price?

The Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche design uses a special symmetrical line segmentation track design with a luxury leather grade hand-processed cowhide material to give it a delicate touch. Its black and red color is also exquisite. The matrix multifocal imaging system consists of a triple-camera setup with a flash called the “Porsche Eye” and it allegedly took Huawei 18 months to design this setup.

Like the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, the Mate 20 RS Porsche design is powered by a Kirin 980 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of internal storage (expandable by Huawei’s NM card slot). The camera setup of this smartphone is identical to that of the Mate 20 Pro.

On the rear, it comes with a triple camera setup which has a 40MP wide-angle lens (27mm, f/1.8), 20MP super-wide angle lens (16mm, f/2.2), and an 8MP 3x optical zoom lens (80mm, f/2.4). It fully covers the 16-270mm focal length, 16mm super wide angle, 80mm 3x optical zoom, 135mm 5x hybrid zoom, and 270mm 10x digital zoom. At the same time, the Mate 20 RS Porsche design camera supports up to 102400 ISO, with incredible night shots, and still captures clear effects with a 0.5 lux brightness.

On the battery life, Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche design is equipped with a 4200 mAh large battery which supports the 40W super fast charge and can deliver up to 70% in 30 minutes. It also has 15W wireless fast charging function and has the authoritative safety certification of TÜV Rheinland.

Now, the price of this smartphone is simply off the roof. The Mate 20 RS Porsche design continues the luxury pricing of the previous generation Mate RS Porsche design. Its 8GB + 256GB variant costs about $1962 while the 8GB + 512GB $2425. This smartphone will be available from October 26.

If I see someone running around with this phone in the future I’ll start laughing at them. They must have some insecurity to compensate for it like that.

But hey, if I were Porsche Design, I’d take advantage of that too. If it’s as easy as taking candy from a baby…

Main thing is… there aren’t any real features withheld from the standard edition. So people that can’t be arsed being spit in the face still get their top tier phone.

That price is a joke. No smart phone is worth anything like that
