In the past few years, Sony’s performance in the mobile sector has been anything but great. This has now resulted in the company cutting budgets across some if its global facilities. In Lund (Sweden) where Sony Mobile’s operation exists, it is being reported and confirmed from a few sources that the company is going to cut a hefty amount of jobs from the organization.

It seems like Sony is willing to cut down 200 jobs in Lund where it employs an 800 strong full-time workforce. Although Sony has informed that there are 1200 people working in this area but it also includes consultants. On top of that, most number of people includes employees who work for a different department in Sony, which does not belong in the mobile sector. Unfortunately, Sony is targeting to cut down the overall cost into half gradually in the few upcoming years.
