If past years are any indication, smartphones from both Chinese an international OEMs won’t be a major focus of the show, probably because industry leaders like Huawei, Sony, LG, and ZTE do reserve their major launches for WMC or the IFA conference holding later in Barcelona and Berlin.
That notwithstanding a few OEMs and the likes of Samsung and Huawei do use the event as a launch pad for some of their phone – mostly the entry-level to mid-range phone. At this years CES to be held from January 8-12, TCL Communication has announced that it will be present at the show.
The firm has sent out invites to that regards, with a hint on what to expect from its Alcatel and BlackBerry brands. Much like last years CES show, this year CES will be a launch pad for a few Alcatel branded smartphone, and while the brand isn’t giving away details about the phones, it did reveal that the upcoming Alcatel phones will feature Alcatel Full View Display.
Also, the brand further said it will be joined by its TCL subsidiary CSOT to introduce new solutions and technologies including edge-to-edge, dot displays, and flexible panels.
And while Blackberrys presence at the CES will be centered on the firm’s BlackBerry QNX, TCL did reveal that it will be “sharing the latest carrier availability for [BlackBerry] devices in the U.S. and elsewhere around the world.”
