China Mobile and Huawei jointly completed 5G network multi-user peak and outdoor continuous coverage performance. This commercial performance index test was carried out in an outdoor field in Hangzhou. The multi-user peak test realized that 5 users in the 5G single cell were online at the same time, and the peak downlink rate of the cell reached 5.5. Gbps. However, the single-user average downlink throughput exceeded 800 Mbps.

China Mobile selected 5G sites in Hangzhou area for the test based on NSA networking. The carrier used the 2.6GHz 64T64R commercial 5G base station, supporting 4/5G common mode concurrency, and a spectrum flexible allocation.
The test is configured with 100MHz NR spectrum bandwidth and 8 5G commercial Huawei Mate 20X 5G phones. Based on 3D MIMO and space division multiplexing technology, multi-user enables air-space multiplexing of air interface resources in uplink and downlink data transmission. This, in turn, improves the uplink and downlink capacity of the system. In addition, it boosts the spectrum efficiency, achieving a 5G single-cell capacity peak of 5.5Gbps.
The outdoor continuous coverage performance test was also conducted using the 5G commercial Huawei Mate 20X. The average downlink rate of the single user of the 5G network exceeded 800 Mbps, and the user experience was greatly improved.
