Today, at Huawei’s London product and solution conference, Ding Yun, Huawei’s executive director and president of operator BG, delivered a keynote speech on ‘5G Creates New Value’. He also released Huawei’s 2020 new products and solutions, ‘5G Partner Innovation Program’. The latter will invest $20 million in the next 5 years to support 5G innovative applications.

5G Innovative Applications

Ding Yun said that the development of 5G in deployment, ecology, and experience is beyond imagination. And the network is the foundation of 5G business. As of now, Huawei has obtained 91 5G commercial contracts, and more than 600,000 5G base stations have been shipped. As the world’s leading 5G supplier, Huawei is committed to developing the best 5G end-to-end solution, providing the industry’s highest performance full-scenario 5G base station. The company offers the industry’s most integrated blade AAU. It supports all Sub 6G frequency bands. 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G are in the same hall. This not only solves the problem of limited installation space on the clouds but also saves TCO by more than 30% compared with traditional solutions in the industry. At the same time, Huawei is also the first in the industry to provide vertical applications of 5G industrial modules.

Ding Yun emphasized that almost all operators have the same network experience in the 4G era. In the 5G era, they can provide a differentiated experience and introduce multi-dimensional billing models. These include traffic, latency, bandwidth, and connectivity. Also, this will make 5G monetization possible. Now is the key time for operators to redefine their 5G business model.
