MIUI 12: the first beta wave is launched for some Xiaomi smartphones

In case you don’t remember, on May 19 there was an official presentation of MIUI 12 Global, a release that in the last few hours has started to be distributed globally in the stable Beta version.

The update arrives on the Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone and is soon expected on its derivatives such as Mi 9T/Redmi K20 or Mi 9T Pro/Redmi K20 Pro. This update only comes for those who have successfully registered in the MIUI 12 Beta program.

On the list of new features we have a Dark Mode 2.0, application menu, Ultra Power Saving Mode, but also the Super Wallpaper where we find wallpapers with complex 3D animations. We also have improved health metrics, as well as more careful control over privacy settings. There is also news in the camera application, and on the multitasking, which now includes floating windows on the screen and Picture in Picture mode.

Here is the list of Xiaomi phones compatible with MIUI 12 Global:

The first Xiaomi mobiles to update to MIUI 12 global will be the main flagships of Xiaomi and Redmi during the past year. These mobiles will begin to receive the global update at the end of June.

Xiaomi has attached great importance to animations on its interface. They created multiple overlapping layers for a much more realistic blur. This makes translucent animations much more pleasing to the eye and realistic.

Also, MIUI 12 renews the settings interface, an unusual change by Xiaomi, which does not usually alter the interface of the phone too much. It is committed to a simpler design in these settings, in addition to being more visual. It will allow users to move comfortably in them. Along with this new interface, more animations are introduced when performing actions, such as pressing a button or moving elements.
