OnePlus says its new Ace 7 Pro is selling far better than last year's model. According to OnePlus China President Li Jie, the phone reached 225% of the Ace 6's sales in its first sales period. That means it sold 2.25 times as much. These figures come from OnePlus itself, and nobody has verified them independently.

A Strong Start in China
The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro launched in China on October 29 and went on sale straight away. Li Jie shared the numbers on Weibo. He also says the Ace 7 Pro and the OnePlus 16 took the top two spots for first-day Android phone sales in China this year.
Buyers cited the performance, the 185Hz gaming refresh rate, ColorOS 17 and the camera system, according to Mezha. OnePlus also claims the Ace 7 series is the only performance phone in its price range with a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate.

Both phones share a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED screen, a 9,000mAh battery with 100W charging and a 200MP main camera. The screen runs at 165Hz, and it reaches 185Hz in select games. Both have IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and ColorOS 17 on Android 17.

The standard Ace 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V series chip and adds an 8MP ultrawide camera. The Ace 7 Pro uses the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and adds a 50MP periscope lens with 3.5x optical zoom. OnePlus also adds its own e-sports chips, and the Pro supports 520Hz touch sampling.
The cooling system is the real headline. OnePlus calls it the industry's first Dual-Path Glacier Cooling System. A small fan inside the body pushes air along one path over the chip and along another over the back cover.

Prices Are Up Sharply
The Ace 7 starts at ¥4,399 (about $655). The Ace 7 Pro starts at ¥4,799 (about $715) for 12GB and 256GB, and the top 16GB and 1TB model costs ¥7,299 (about $1,090).
That is a big jump. 91mobiles says the base Ace 7 costs ¥1,800 (69.3%) more than the base Ace 6. The Ace 7 Pro costs ¥2,200 (84.6%) more than last generation's starting price. The site blames the memory price crisis, which it calls RAMageddon.

In my opinion, that makes the sales claim more interesting, but also harder to judge. A much more expensive phone still sold well, yet OnePlus hasn't said how long each "first sales period" lasted or how many units that means. Until independent data appears, I would treat 225% as a marketing number.

Will It Reach Global Markets?
OnePlus hasn't announced a global version. 91mobiles and Android Authority both see the Ace 7 as an early look at the OnePlus 16R, which is expected in markets like India. If that happens, the specs and the price could change before it arrives.
Even so, the fan, the 9,000mAh battery and the 200MP camera show where mid-range gaming phones are heading. If the OnePlus 16R keeps even part of that package, it could be a strong option outside China.
