Galaxy Fold 2 passes 3C certification, to come with 25W fast charger

Samsung is working on a plethora of high-end products that will see its official launch next month on August 5. These new flagship products consist of Galaxy Note 20 lineup, Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Watch 3 and next-gen Galaxy Buds. Just like other Samsung products, the Galaxy Fold 2 has also witnessed a fair share of leaks and rumours. Well, the Galaxy Fold 2 has now surfaced on the 3C listing for the certification. As expected, the supporting documents have now revealed a few more key information on the device.

Galaxy Fold 2 will arrive with 25W fast charger inside the box!

The upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 has appeared on the 3C listing with the model number SM-F9160. As per the listing, the product will come bundled with an EP-TA800 charger. The charger has a maximum power output of 9V and 2.27A or 11V and 2.25A. These power output rating results in a total power output of 25W suggesting that the device will come with 25W fast charging support. For those who’re unaware, Samsung has also bundled the same charger with its previous 25W fast-charging devices such as Galaxy S20 lineup, Galaxy Note 10 series, and Galaxy A71.

To recall, the original Galaxy Fold comes with 15W fast charging support. Well, the addition of 25W fast charger is surely a step up from the first-generation. The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to arrive with a 4,365 mAh battery capacity which surprisingly is a combination of two batteries – 2,275mAh and 2,090mAh.

Last month, we saw the leaked render of the foldable smartphone shedding some light on the aesthetics. The render images showcase that the device will arrive with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The first-generation, on the other hand, comes with a huge notch-like cutout. Since the official launch is inching closer, we should expect more new information to come forward in the coming weeks.

Expected specs, features

Looking at the previous leaks and rumours, the Galaxy Fold 2 will arrive with a larger screen on the front. On the inside, we might see a 7.7-inch foldable display with 120Hz refresh rate having Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) protection. No wonder, the device will run on the latest Android 10 OS with One UI 2.5 skin on top. The Fold 2 will make use of Snapdragon 865+ chipset paired with 256GB and 5125GB onboard memory. For optics, we’re looking at a tripe rear camera featuring 108MP primary lens, a periscope-style optical zoom sensor, and an ultrawide lens.
