Honor Magicbook 14 SE quietly released – selling for 2999 yuan ($432)


Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is currently working on a couple of notebooks. A few days ago, there were reports that the Honor MagicBook SE will arrive in a low-key event. This is exactly the case as the Honor MagicBook 14 SE hit the shelves today for 2999 yuan ($432). According to the company, this notebook is available on platforms such as Huawei Mall and Tmall Mall. Presently, it is available for reservations. The first official sale of the notebook will take place on August 15th.

This notebook targets office users as well as middle and high school students. The most interesting part of this device is that it is cheap. Although there is no press conference for the launch, this notebook $432 price tag is amazing.

Honor Magicbook 14 SE – what does it offer?

Since there was no official launch event, we have to glean the specs of this device from its landing page. According to the available information, this notebook is only available in Glacier Silver colour. Under the hood, we have an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor. This processor is assisted by 8GB DDR4 2400 memory as well as a 256GB solid-state hard disk.

The Honor Magicbook 14 SE further comes with a 14-inch FHD matte screen which supports 45% NTSC. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 84% and a maximum brightness of 250 nits. It has passed the TÜV Rheinland certification and supports fingerprint recognition to boot. The bezel of the display is only 4.8mm and the weight of this device is .138kg. On the battery end, it comes with a 56Wh battery. The specs sheet did not give the performance of the battery.

In other respects, the Honor Magicbook 14 SE supports Bluetooth 5.0 and IEEE 802.11ac networks. It also uses a 1MP hidden camera as well as an island-style chocolate full-size keyboard. In terms of connectivity, this device supports an HDMI interface, a USB 3.0 interface, a USB 2.0 interface, and a USB -C interface. It also comes with dual speakers, dual microphones, and support for Honor Magic-link 2.0 multi-screen collaboration. The overall size of 322.5mm × 214.8mm × 15.9mm and it weighs about 1.38kg.

It is quite interesting that Huawei is still releasing a plethora of products even after the recent troubles from the U.S. governments. Its recent strides show that the company is not tied to American components and supplies. This is quite impressive for a Chinese company.
