The Reno 4 series new product dubbed the OPPO Reno 4 SE was officially released today. The company has invited a well-known celebrity Wang Junkai to introduce this phone in a 5-minute video. This handset provides a completely new experience in flash charging, design, and video recording. It sports a Dimensity 720 all-in-one dual-mode 5G mobile platform, a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, and a smart and efficient ColorOS 7.2 operating system.

The OPPO Reno 4 SE smartphones are available in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB versions. They cost 2499 yuan ($369) and 2799 yuan ($414). Both variants will go on sale on September 25.

OPPO Reno 4 SE Battery and Charging
One of the biggest highlights of this smartphone is the 65W super flash charging technology. Under the hood, it carries a large 4300mAh battery to ensure long battery life. And due to the aforementioned charging technology, it will reach 41% of power in 10 minutes and it will be fully charged in 37 minutes.
OPPO Lab selected popular applications in typical scenarios for testing. Say, the OPPO Reno 4 SE provides 5 hours of online video watching at the highest quality, 2.82 hours for watching TikTok videos, 1.92 hours for playing Honor of Kings, 2.14 hours for making Facebook video calls, and 2.06 hours for map navigation.
The 65W super flash charge uses a low-voltage and high-current solution. This reduces the cell pressure and brings a higher conversion efficiency. Its 65W super flash charger has passed the TÜV Rheinland’s safe fast-charging system certification. In terms of long-term use experience consistency, the Reno 4 SE promises 800 battery cycles and the battery capacity is greater than 80%.
The OPPO Reno 4 SE provides multiple battery life optimizations at the software level. ColorOS 7.2’s ‘power saving mode’ and ‘super power-saving mode’ provide targeted optimization in daily use machine background management, night standby power consumption control, and extremely long battery life scenarios.
OPPO Reno 4 SE Design
The OPPO Reno 4 SE has a body thickness of 7.85mm and a weight of about 169g. The thickness of the middle frame is controlled at 3.34mm, making it the thinnest in the industry. It also draws on the curvature of the arc since R9 and R11 to create the ultimate lightness.
OPPO Reno 4 SE’s ‘sunshine pattern’ adopts texture splicing technology, absorbing the beauty of Piet Mondrian’s ‘new stylingism’ using straight lines to control the proportions, perfectly fusing the deep and introverted bullet pattern and the lively tension of radial patterns. Generally, the radiation pattern explores the rhythmic beauty of texture gradation on the micron-level process. It uses about 15,000 light patterns to truly restore the changes in light and shadow under different angles of sunlight.
The OPPO Reno 4 SE adopts dip-dyeing and gradual coating process to improve the color transparency of the back shell, precisely adjust the coating thickness to increase the reflectivity, and create a higher texture. It also provides three colors: ‘Super Flash Black’, ‘Super Flash Blue’, and ‘Super Flash White’.

The OPPO Reno 4 SE imaging system inherits the Reno series’ ‘Super Video Stabilization’ and ‘Super Night Scene’ mode. The imaging system consists of a rear triple-camera + 32MP selfie lens. The rear 48MP main camera achieves 108MP shooting capability by the super-resolution algorithm; the 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens has a 119-degree ultra-wide-angle shooting capability and the distortion is corrected to 109 degrees; the 2MP macro lens provides 4cm macro shooting.
The 32MP ‘AI Smart Beauty’ by recognizing environmental brightness, color temperature, backlight value and other information, separately extracts skin color to adjust the value, creates natural skin color and brightness, and provides a full-scene multi-person intelligent beauty makeup optimization program. The ‘color retention of portraits’ of the rear main camera uses AI to recognize the outline of the subject. Then, it processes the environment in black and white, retaining the color of the subject to form a strong contrast.
In terms of night shooting, the OPPO Reno 4 SE has ‘Night scene light spot portrait’ and ‘AI super clear night scene’ functions. The former function uses LowLight-HDR, spot enhancement, and blur three-fold algorithm to superimpose. It allows users to shoot large-aperture portraits with the effect of ‘neon flashing’ at night. ‘AI Super Clear Night Scene’ uses composite multi-frame noise reduction and HDR to achieve night image noise reduction and dynamic range improvement.
