Redmi Note 10

On September 30, a well-known Weibo blogger said that Redmi will launch a Snapdragon 750G model in the domestic market. When the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor was released, we knew that Xiaomi will debut this chip. Now, there are some speculations that we are dealing with the Redmi Note 10 series model.

It was previously revealed that the Redmi Note 10 series contains three models – the 4G version, the 5G standard version and the 5G Pro version. They are similar in layout to the Redmi 10X series. The Redmi 10X series also has the Redmi 10X 4G, the Redmi 10X 5G and the Redmi 10X Pro 5G.

Two of the 5G models may come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G and the MediaTek Dimensity 820 processors respectively.

Gizchina News of the week

The positioning of the Snapdragon 750G is slightly inferior to that of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. It is based on an 8nm process and the CPU uses an octa-core design. The latter includes two large cores and six energy-efficient cores. The large core is the Cortex A77 and integrates the Adreno 619 GPU.

The Dimensity 820 is MediaTek’s mid-to-high-end 5G chip. It uses a 7nm process and consists of 4 x Cortex A76 at 2.6GHz + 4 × Cortex A55 at 2.0GHz cores. It uses the Mali-G57 MC5 graphics card. Also, this chip supports 5G dual-carrier aggregation and 5G+5G dual card dual standby.

Judging from the positioning of the two chips, the Redmi Note 10 may sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750, while the Redmi Note 10 Pro may use the MediaTek Dimensity 820.

They are expected to hit the market around October.

Well, all these leaks are quite interesting. And they are in line with the previous leaks. Say, we knew that the Redmi Note 10 will sport a Snapdragon 732G chip. This made us think that the Redmi Note 10 4G will be a rebranded variant of the POCO X3. Thus, though today we didn’t get any news concerning the 4G variant, it seems this version will come with this chip.

In other aspects, the new Redmi Note 10 series will use a 6.67-inch LCD full-screen with a hole-punch design. Also, its resolution will be 2400×1080 pixels. And the screen will have a 120Hz screen refresh rate as well as a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Thus, the Redmi Note 10 won’t lay behind of the Redmi K30, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30i, and Redmi K30 5G Ultra.

I would prefer the variant with the MediaTek Dimensity chipset over the Snapdragon one. With Dimensity, wouldn't have to worry about burning a hole in the pocket while also being sure about lag free performance.
