HMD Global owned Nokia is now working on a new budget smartphone under its Nokia 5 lineup. The new smartphone succeeds the previous-gen Nokia 5.3 meaning it comes with the moniker Nokia 5.4. For those who’re unaware, the former was launched back in March and it looks like the Finnish-company is now planning to refresh the lineup. As you might have already guessed, this is the first time we’re hearing about Nokia 5.4. Thanks to NokiaPowerUser, we now have some key details on the smartphone along with somewhat of a launch timeline.
HMD Global seems to be working on Nokia 5.4: here are the key details that we now know!
According to the report, Nokia 5.4 will arrive with a punch-hole cutout housing the front shooter. The previous-gen 5.3 features a waterdrop notch on its screen. We’re looking at around 6.4-inch of the screen in the refresh version of the device. The smartphone will arrive in two storage configurations – 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB options. Lastly, the device will initially be launched in two color options namely Blue and Purple. The report further adds that more color variants will be added after the launch. Apart from this, the report doesn’t really talk about any key internal hardware. The device should come with some improved internals under the hood.
Gizchina News of the week
With Nokia 5.3, the Finnish smartphone maker followed the quad rear cameras trend. We should see the quad-camera setup in the successor as well. Just like most Nokia devices out there, the 5.4 will also be a part of the Android One program meaning you will receive updates quite early than most devices out there. It would be interesting to see whether the device will arrive with Android 10 or the latest Android 11. Well, our best is on the former considering it’s the budget segment device. Another good addition would be a fast charge capabilities as the predecessor offered the regular 10W charging.
The report also mentions that HMD Global is planning to launch its Nokia 5.4 smartphone much sooner than expected. If that’s the case, then we should expect to see some more information in the coming days. We might see more leaks along with some teasers from the brand if we’re that lucky. At this time, we can’t comment on the concrete launch timeline of the smartphone.
