Back in July last year, OnePlus revealed its very first mid-range smartphone in the OnePlus Nord. Now, one year has passed and the company is ready to deploy the second generation OnePlus Nord 2. The new smartphone will go official on July 22 and ahead of the release, it has been leaking in the wild. The device was revealed by the company a couple of days ago, more recently we saw the Blue Haze and Gray colorways. Now, a new color has been spotted through a design render. Apparently, the OnePlus Nord 2 will get an additional coat of paint.
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G has emerged in a Red Color that will be dubbed Hot Red. The new leak comes as a courtesy of popular leakster Evan Blass. We have just a matte red finish instead of a gradient, we have to say that it looks gorgeous. Those who enjoy Red smartphones will certainly enjoy this new colorway. Now, it’s safe to assume that the OnePlus Nord will come in three colorways – Blue Haze, Gray Sierra, and Red Colors. That’s one more color than what leaks have been suggesting so far.

As far as the smartphone’s specifications go, the OnePlus has been confirming key details of the handset. We already know that the new smartphone packs a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset. This particular chip has some AI capabilities enhanced through a partnership between OnePlus and the Taiwanese chipmaker. In terms of performance, it still brings a single ARM Cortex-A78 core clocked at up to 3GHz. It also has three ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.6GHz, and four power-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. The device brings a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
Other OnePlus Nord 2 specifications include a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. Under the hood, the smartphone will be paired with 8 GB and 12 GB of RAM. In terms of storage, we have 128 GB and 256 GB options. On the software side of the thing, the device will come with Android 11 OS and OxygenOS 11.3 straight out of the box.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will pack a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor. It will be accompanied by an 8 MP ultrawide-angle lens and a 2 MP monochrome camera. In terms of selfies and video-calling, the handset will pack a 32 MP camera. It will draw its powers from a huge 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support.
